What BatFasters say...
Working at BatFast during my placement year was highly rewarding. Due to the small size of the company, I felt the work I was doing was highly influential to the success of the business; I was there to make a difference, not just fill a small gap. I was quickly able to get behind the product, largely due to my love for cricket and sports, but also because of the intricacies and uniqueness of the product. Having such a hands-on role as I did in operations, meant I was almost constantly in contact with some form of a simulator, whether it be building components in the warehouse, or setting up and running an event on the ground working closely with big name clients. One thing that was always prominent was the team culture, and always having someone available to help, both when in house and on the ground.
Due to the growing nature of the company, international events and installs are becoming increasingly frequent. During my year, I was lucky enough to spend 3 weeks in Downtown Manhattan, running an event in partnership with the ICC for the Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup. Directly under the new One World Trade Centre was a special place to work, even with a 20 hour shift, and working through nights to set up! Despite the high workload, there was still plenty of time for sightseeing and tourist activities, something which is always important and considered.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at BatFast, and am fortunate enough to still be able to call it work, and look forward to the future adventures that will come.
