Job description

BatFast designs and develops Multisports simulators for both entertainment and training purposes. It has developed the world’s first portable outdoor cricket simulator which it launched in summer 2016. The product has gathered great interest from both local and international markets allowing BatFast to expand its core research and development team. The BatFast Hardware engineering team is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated candidate to part-take in R&D, production, operations and logistics activities.

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and passionate candidates who have completed a mechanical engineering course.

An ideal candidate will be eager to learn and not afraid of getting their hands dirty with hands-on work – whether it is to get involved in building & developing new products, researching technology or getting involved with operations and logistics. There will be many aspects of the business to get involved in within our highly dynamic, passionate and ever-growing team.

The role is based at our HQ in Nottingham and might include travel all over the country for maintenance/installation operations support. The employment will ensure the candidate is exposed to all aspects of the business with mentor-ship and guidance from industry experts.

Duties:

  • Help design new products utilising Autodesk Inventor & Fusion 360.
  • Create/develop test methods for product durability & reliability. (Design of experiments)
  • Assist in testing processes/data analysis – All products.
  • Help build new & current Mechanical prototypes. (Sheet metal, fabrication, machining etc)
  • Help to solve current Engineering issues utilising our business program issue tracker. (Engineering Change Register)
  • Assist Operations with production builds when required. (Training will be provided – knowledge of how to use hand and power/machine tools would be beneficial)
  • Learn/develop to utilise CNC machining assets.
  • Assist in developing CE/UKCA marking documents – All products.
  • Maintain document control – Design (BOM/drawings), manufacturing costs, FMEA (design & process), Risk assessments, SOP’s etc.
  • Maintain and monitor Engineering stock.
  • Part-take in procurement of components.
  • Help develop an Engineering 5s system.
  • Provide remote technical support to clients when required – training will be given
  • Undertake basic electrical prototyping – Cable manufacturing/assembly & Electrical Control box assembly.
  • Generate technical reports for internal and external dissemination
