CASE STUDY: BatFast at the 2022 Charleston Open
BatFast touched down in the United States of America with event partners Provision, to provide the fan zones during the Credit One Charleston Open 2022.
With the Tennis experience making its international debut, it’s a step forward in increasing participation in Tennis. Read on about the project, BatFast’s impact, and the value that BatFast adds to clients.
From the 2nd to the 10th of April, as part of the WTA500 Charleston Open, a BatFast Tennis Simulator was installed in partnership with Credit One Bank, the Official Sponsor of the Tournament. The activation took place at the iconic Credit One Stadium located within the Family Circle Tennis Center tennis complex on Daniel Island in Charleston, South Carolina. Powered by BatFast the Credit One Tennis Simulator was housed within a branded aluminum truss structure, delivered by our Events Partner.
The activation aimed to attract people of all ages and experience levels but also provide a never-seen-before experience for fans in the US designed to challenge more competent players. The focus for the event was on throughput and creating a rich customer journey via a sticky product to help increase dwell time, engagement, and participation with other surrounding activities.
Credit One as an Official Partner was the headline sponsor for the tournament and when executing their vision for the space it was crucial to provide a link between their brand and the organization’s affiliation with the sport of Tennis. Emphasis was placed on creating a competitive scenario focused on the technical skill of returning serves and we used our automatic scoring system, LED Targets to create an eye-catching experience that encouraged retention through a leaderboard for each day. The branded aluminum truss structure followed the brand guidelines of the sponsor and linked the look and feel to the surrounding fan zone and activations. Key to the success of the fan zone was creating a reliable and engaging station for fans to stop off at when enjoying the entire fan experience inside the stadium.
Across the 9 days, the Charleston Tennis Simulator was enjoyed by over a thousand fans and delivered thousands more serves. Client feedback was really complimentary and our area was one of the busier zones at the event the client was left happy with both the magnetism of the area created but also the promotional platform created for the tournament. To cap a fantastic event off, BatFast also delivered its 8 millionth ball at the event.
