BATFAST cricket simulators at Emirates Old Trafford for Lancashire Vs Derbyshire

Last Saturday our events team visited Emirates Old Trafford, where they set up one of our unique cricket simulators. This was part of the T20 fan zone for the Vitality Blast match against the Derbyshire Falcons. This was a great day to be involved in with the weather reaching 25 degrees and two good T20 teams on show. Our simulator delivered almost 800 deliveries throughout the day.

Match Report

The Lancashire captain Liam Livingstone won the toss and decided to bat first. Livingstone himself led by example, opening the batting and scoring 44 runs from 21 deliveries. Alex Davies also contributed at the top of the order, with 31 runs. The Derbyshire bowlers did well to slow the run rate. They did this by taking wickets at vital times, meaning Lancashire finished on 157-8.

In reply, Derbyshire got 41-2 from their first six overs. Madsen top-scored for Derbyshire with 34 runs from 25 balls. However, Lester bowled brilliantly for Lancashire with career-best figures 4-25. This made scoring difficult for the Derbyshire batsmen. Derbyshire required 18 runs from the final over however, they lost two more wickets, meaning they fell 12 runs short of the target.

Future events

Our next event in the Lancashire area will be when the Lancashire Thunder women’s team take on the Southern Vipers in the Kia Super League. This fixture is hosted by Southport and Birkdale Cricket Club and will take place on the 22nd of July.
