Women’s cricket improving in England

Interesting article from BBC Sport’s Katie Gornall assessing the opportunities for ECB to learn from Australia’s management of its Women’s Cricket set-up. The difference between full-time contracted women cricketers playing at State level compared to part-time non contracted county cricketers who balance day jobs, is well articulated.

ECB could perhaps borrow lessons from Associate countries like Ireland, who experience similar challenges, yet manage to consistently develop part-time cricketers capable of competing against Test playing teams.
