Wasim Khan appointed as CEO of Leicestershire Cricket

Wasim Khan has been appointed as the first Asian Chief Executive of an English county cricket team. Khan scored 2835 first class runs during an 11 year professional career, for Derbyshire, Sussex and Warwickshire, including a career best of 181.

The appointment of Khan is well timed, following on from the BBC sport article by reporter Kalika Mehta, on why relatively few Asian’s have established themselves within professional cricket in England.

Moreover, cricket has once again set a remarkable example for other sports like football to follow by promoting diversity and equal opportunities for ethnic minorities.

Best of luck Wasim from the entire BatFast team.
